Melania Trump married Donald because she needed a ‘FATHER FIGURE’ – SHOCK new book claims

An anonymous “old friend” of Melania’s from Slovenia is quoted in Golden Handcuffs: The Secret History of Trump’s Women by Nina Burleigh.

They said “it’s all about that power and protection” and “I think she needed a strong man, a father figure”.

Meanwhile, drawing attention to the similarities between the First Lady’s father and her husband a “family friend” told a Slovenian television channel that Mrs Trump “married her father”, according to Ms Burleigh’s book.

The White House has denied the claims, saying the author did not “fact check” her work.

Director of communications for the First Lady, Stephanie Grisham, said: “As usual, the claims made by an anonymous source in the book are not true.

“I’d also add that the author didn’t bother to reach out to fact check anything that she wrote.”

Melania, who is 24 years younger than her husband, compared him to her father in a 2016 interview.

She said: “They’re both hardworking. They’re both very smart and very capable.

“They grew up in totally different environments, but they have the same values, they have the same tradition.

“I myself am similar to my husband. Do you understand what I mean?

“So is my dad. He is a family man, he has tradition, he is hardworking. So is my husband.”

The new book looks into the lives and character of important women in the US President’s life, including his grandmother, mother, wives and daughters.

Author Ms Burleigh explained certain similarities between Trump’s third wife and her own father.

She said: “The two men are only a few years apart in age, and look alike, both rotund, given to bellicosity, and otherwise all business.”

The writer added Melania’s billionaire husband also gave her the security she wanted and helped propel her modelling career to new heights.

However, Trump’s alleged affairs may have put a strain on their marriage, despite Melania’s continued public support for her husband.

A “New York friend” of the First Lady reportedly said: “Her world is very, very small.

“Melania only wanted red-soled shoes and a roof over her head. And she got this.”

However, in a recent interview with ABC Melania dismissed speculation that her marriage was on the rocks, saying she and her husband were “fine” and that she has “much more important things to think about and to do”.

The First Lady added: “I know people like to speculate about our marriage and circulate the gossip.

“Unfortunately, we live in this kind of world today.”
