Khabib Nurmagomedov cousin posts message still showing Conor McGregor ‘punch’ injury

Nurmagomedov beat McGregor in the fourth round of their UFC 229 showdown on Sunday morning.

The Dagestan native got McGregor in a choke hold, forcing the Irishman to submit.

But it was the rumble after the main event that spark controversy, with Nurmagomedov diving into the crowd to attack one of McGregor’s entourage, and McGregor also fighting in the Octagon.

Nurmagomedov’s cousin Abubakar was at the fight in Las Vegas and on Sunday claimed to have been punched by McGregor, causing a wound under his right eye.

“In short, I climbed onto the cage. This Irish b**** hit me,” he said.

“But I didn’t hold back either. Bam, boom! – I gave [him] two.”

And now the mixed martial artist has posted another message, where his facial injury is still clear to see.

“As-Salaam-Alaikum! Thank you brothers for your support for everything, the wind of your support blew around the octagon, and it charged us,” he wrote.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) move on!”

Abubakar appears to still have a bruise where, he claims, McGregor punched him in the melee.

As for , he is understood to have sounded out a possible UFC rumble in his hometown of Dublin for his next fight.

The Irishman fought in the for the first time in two years on Sunday, having spent 2017 trying his hand at boxing in a showdown with Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor was labelled an amateur by Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, however.

“I want to congratulate my brother Khabib Nurmagomedov – the undisputed, undefeated pound-for-pound king,” he said.

“There was never two Kings from beginning, only one king.

“This is not the way we want to celebrate such a dominant performance but when you talk about people’s country, family and religion and intentionally try to kill someone like he said and the cornermen running their mouths after, this is the fight game & s*** happens.

“The fans got an amazing fight and a great show.

“I want apologise to the Nevada athletic commission, the governor of Nevada and I want to thank Las Vegas police department and security for doing such an unbelievable job.

“Now everyone understands who’s the amateur here.”
