WWE news: When will Dean Ambrose betray Shield team-mates Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins?

Ambrose has been teasing a change of heart in the last two weeks as he seems unhappy with his position in The Hounds of Justice and the fact that he is the only member without a title.

The Shield’s rivals Braun Strowman as well as RAW Tag Team Champions Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler have been urging him to forget about his partners because they don’t care enough about him.

The Lunatic Fringe then took shots at Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins hinting that he has thought about challenging them for the Universal and Intercontinental Championship respectively.

At WWE Super Show-Down, Reigns accidentally hit him with a Superman Punch and the ex-WWE Champion made it look like he was thinking about joining Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler during an intense moment in the Six Man Tag Team Match.

According to Ringside News, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer claims WWE will continue the same storyline and could have Ambrose finally turning his back to The Shield at Survivor Series.

Alvarez said: “They’re going to stretch this thing out until Survivor Series.”

Ambrose enjoyed immense success on his won after the first breakup of The Shield as he became WWE Champion, enjoyed two Intercontinental Championship reigns and won the Money in the Bank briefcase.

The 32-year-old was initially expected to break up The Hounds of Justice last year before WrestleMania 34 during their first reunion.

However, the ex-US Champion suffered a serious arm injury that put him on the shelf for a year and plans changed.

The Shield debuted in 2012 and wrecked havoc for two years as they won championship gold and took out some of WWE’s biggest legends like The Rock, John Cena and The Undertaker.

Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose remained undefeated in Six Man Tag Team action for five months and beat some of the biggest stables in WWE history like Evolution and The Wyatt Family.

The famous trio disbanded in 2014 when Rollins betrayed his brothers and joined The Authority.

The Shield had a brief reunion last year but only managed to team up once at Survivor Series where they defeated The New Day in a stunning encounter.

Their second run was doomed when Reigns suffered a serious illness and Ambrose got injured.

The Big Dog went on to feud with Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and Rollins won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania from The Miz.
