Vexed protestors railing against Judge Kavanaugh have descended in their droves upon an official US government building, as they urge US politicians to reject Trump’s preference for one of the most senior legal positions in the country.
The vast swathes of demonstrators completely took over the ground floor of a Senate building on Capitol Hill – the seat of the US government.
Tensions sky-rocketed in the US corridors of power in Washington as the mass demonstration engulfed the Senate’s Hart building.
Swarms of anti-Kavanaugh activists attempted to thwart the selection of Trump’s preferred appointment by voicing their outrage, brandishing placards with slogans such as: “I believe survivors” and “unfit to serve”.
The demonstrators were also waving signs with the words “we believe Christine Ford”.

A 21-year-old protester from California, who asked not to be identified, told The Independent: “I believe that the federal government is not addressing the sexual assault epidemic that has been allowed to happen.”
Samantha Dercher told CNN she is participating in the protest “because the future of our country depends on it”.
She said: “Kavanaugh is uniquely unfit to serve on our nation’s court.
“His temperament and partisanship during his hearing alone should be enough to disqualify him from consideration.”
The supercharged atmosphere prompted Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, to decry the harassment of senators during a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday.
He said: “One of our colleagues and his family were effectively run out of a restaurant in recent days.
“Another reported having protesters physically block his car door.
“And some have seen organised far-left protesters camp out at their homes.”
Judge Kavanaugh has been accused of sexual abuse, as a number of women have come forward to raise allegations of historical misconduct.
Mr Kavanugh strenuously denies all charges levelled against him.
The latest sensational testimony was given before a Senate judiciary hearing last week by Psychology Professor Christine Blasey Ford.
Ms Ford alleges Mr Kavanaugh drunkenly attempted to rape her while his friend, Mark Judge, stood by and watched during a 1982 gathering.
But Republicans, spearheaded by President Trump, have questioned the reliability of Ms Ford’s account.
Responding to the allegations in front of the Senate Committee last Thursday, Mr Kavanaugh said Ms Ford and other accusers had “destroyed” his family name.
He said: “I was not at the party described by Dr Ford.
“This confirmation process has become a national disgrace.
“There has been a frenzy on the left to come up with something, anything, to block my nomination.”
