Fortnite update 6.01 to go live October 3; adding new LTM and more

Fortnite update 6.01 is being released tomorrow, October 3, following a short period of downtime and scheduled maintenance.

The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, having skipped today as the usual time to update Fortnite.

Downtime will begin at 8am in the UK, which will also be the time that Epic Games share the official patch notes.

“Slide into patch v6.01 on Wednesday, October 3! Patch Notes will be available when downtime begins at 3 AM ET (0700 GMT).”

As the new patch notes have not been released yet, it’s hard to say what exactly will be included in the latest update.

vCard QR Code

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Epic Games have dropped some strong hints on what new LTM will be going live later this week, as well as what bugfixes they’re focusing on.

Fans will be getting to try out their library of emotes this week, as Epic Games are releasing a brand new mode centred around dancing.

Disco Domination will task players to win a king-of-the-hill style contest with only their best moves.

“Capture and defend Dance Floors around the island using emotes to earn points,” the official description reads.

The aim of the game is to impress your friends with your dance moves, although it’s hard to say just how much boogieing one gamer can take.

The Fortnite Trello page confirms that a fix is on the way for mini-map, rendering and audio issues.

Here are some of the bugfixes that have been greenlit for launch as part of Fortnite update 6.01:

While loading in, players may notice an unrendered version of the Starter Island appear for a short time, then be replaced with the loading screen again until the map fully renders.

When using certain emotes, at the end of the audio track when it starts to repeat there can be an audible “pop” sound.

The floating island is not appearing in the correct location on the minimap.

More changes will be shared when the patch notes are released tomorrow morning, at around 8am, BST.

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play game developed by Epic Games and available to download on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.
