Overwatch fans don’t have to wait very long for the Halloween Terror event to launch in 2018.
The 2018 Halloween Terror event has been given an October 9 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The news was confirmed alongside a Halloween Terror 2018 map teaser.
“There’s a rumour among explorers about a monolithic lair,” reads a Blizzard tweet. “Home to terrifying horrors. Heroes, how will you prepare?”
The rhyme was posted alongside a short teaser video (below), which hints at a new map location.

Judging by the video, Château Guillard is getting a Halloween makeover, perhaps for the Junkenstein’s Revenge game mode.
Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan recently hinted at a brand new skin, telling fans that Junkenstein’s Monster would finally have a bride.
In addition to a handful of new skins, outfits from past Halloween Terror events will also return for a reduced price.
Kaplan told fans to expect one or two minor tweaks in the Junkenstein’s Revenge game mode, which pits four heroes against waves of enemies.
The Halloween Terror event could launch alongside the recently announced Torbjorn rework.
Arguably the biggest change is that Torbjorn will no longer dish out armour to teammates. This also spells the end for the scrap system.
Kaplan said that the aim of the changes is to make Torbjorn a more acceptable pick on both attack and defence.
As such, he’ll have a new ability called Overload, which boosts movement speed, improves his damage resistance and even increases his rate of fire.
Turrets, meanwhile, stay at level two and can be tossed to previously unreachable areas.
His new Ultimate – while still named Molten Core – shoots out pools of liquid lava. Kaplan says it will do extra damage against armour.
