The Last of Us 2 news: PS4 Release Date LEAKED for Part II?

Ever since its announcement, there’s been a lot of hype surrounding The Last of Us 2 sequel.

Many questions were answered during E3 2018, although no release date was announced for the PS4 exclusive.

But a new update this week suggests that it might not be as far away as first thought.

According to an alleged leak, The Last of Us Part II will be released next year.

This new information isn’t coming from an anonymous forum post or Reddit comment but stems from something a little more official.

PlayStation Music has been sharing the soundtrack from the new game on its official YouTube channel, as part of the Outbreak Day celebrations.

Every year on September 26, Naughty Dog have held The Last of Us community celebrations, as well as share new deals in association with the franchise.

The Fifth Anniversary of Outbreak Day includes a new collection of The Last of Us, as well as Last of Us Part II merch, content, and special promotions.

“We’ve released a new theme song from The Last of Us Part II called “The Last of Us (Cycles)” by the one and only Gustavo Santaolalla,” a message from Sony PlayStation explains.

“You may have seen Gustavo perform it live at the E3 2018 PlayStation Showcase, but now, the studio version is here and ready for you to listen to on repeat.

“The PS Store is also offering Outbreak Day discounts on The Last of Us DLC through October 2.

“We’ll also have a special discount on The Last of Us: Remastered this weekend, from September 28 until October 1 for those itching to catch up ahead of The Last of Us Part II.”

The new soundtrack piece is currently available to listen to on YouTube on the PlayStation Music channel.

And it just so happens to include a reference to 2019 in the official headline.

“Music from The Last of Us Part II (2019) published by Sony Interactive Entertainment,” it reads.

Fans have taken this as a hint that the Naughty Dog PS4 exclusive will be launching next year.

It should be noted that this could be just a mistake made by someone uploading the content, or something in connection with the music itself.

However, it could also be a subtle hint that The Last of Us Part II will be arriving on PS4 in 2019.

There isn’t any PlayStation Experience event being held this year, so fans won’t be finding out more on the new game then.

Could Sony announce the release of the TLOU 2 at the end of the Outbreak Celebrations? Fans will want to keep a close eye on the PlayStation social channels for more clues.
