‘Do not interfere’ – Iran sends STARK WARNING to neighbours as Middle East tensions mount

Brigadier General Hossein Salami, second in command of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard force, told a congregation in Tehran on Friday that they had learnt from recent tensions with the US.

Speaking to the crowd, he is reported to have said: “We must be powerful to survive.”

In a direct attack on Saudi Arabia and the UAE, he stated defiantly: “If you cross our red lines, we will surely cross yours.

“Calm down and do not interfere, your regional ambitions have failed.”

General Salami added that the Saudis and UAE would “never succeed in increasing tensions within the Islamic Republic”.

The recent attack, which killed 25 soldiers and civilians, has been claimed by both the Arab Struggle for the Liberation of Ahwaz and ISIS.

However, Iran has blamed foreign states including the USA.

They have also said the attack could have been carried out by Israel or Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has nevertheless denied any involvement in the attack.

Mr Salami has also accused US officials of trying to alienate Iran from the rest of the world, but warned the US was becoming “isolated themselves”.

This sentiment was echoed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who made a veiled attack on President Trump in his speech at the UN this week.

Speaking in New York, he said: “It is unfortunate that we are witnessing rulers in he world ride public sentiments and gain popular support through the fomenting of extremist nationalism and racism and through xenophobic tendencies resembling a Nazi disposition, as well as through the trampling of global rules and undermining international institutions.”

The US leader nevertheless responded defiantly, and branded Iran a “corrupt dictatorship”, whose leaders “sow chaos, death and disruption”.

He said: “They do not respect their neighbours or borders or the sovereign rights of nations.

“Instead Iran’s leaders plunder the nation’s resources to enrich themselves and to spread mayhem across the Middle East and far beyond.”

President Trump’s comments were echoed by his national security adviser John Bolton, who warned “there would be hell to pay” if Iran continues to threaten the international community.

He said: “The murderous regime and its supporters will face significant consequences if they do not change their behaviour.

“Let my message today be clear: We are watching, and we will come after you.”
