Nintendo Switch Online games list EXPANDS following NES Classic news update

Today saw the launch of the new Nintendo Switch Online service, a paid subscription deal that gives players access to Nintendo multiplayer, as well as other bonuses.

This includes new NES Classic games, which are part of NSO, and already have a fair few titles to choose from.

The Nintendo Online Service has launched with a selection of classic NES games, which is perfect if you failed to get your hands on a NES Classic Mini.

“Members will have access to Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online, a compilation of classic NES games,” the company explains.

“The collection will initially include 20 games, and more will be added on a regular basis.”

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

And while the classic gameplay is intact, they have also been updated for the Nintendo switch experience.

This includes added online connectivity so that friends can play co-op together without needing to be sharing the same couch.

The launch lineup of games includes Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, Soccer, Tennis, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Dr Mario, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Donkey Kong.

And the good news is that more NES games are being planned for launch way into the future.

According to Nintendo, each month until the end of 2018 will include multiple classic games to play, each offering their own HD support.

And the list isn’t filled with obscure titles, with top titles such as the Original Legend of Zelda and Ninja Gaiden.

In total it looks like each month will have at least three games included, although it will be worth seeing what happens in October.

Similar to Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus, Nintendo Switch Online is the company’s new subscription service.

Nintendo Switch Online will be available for £3.49 a month in the UK, £6.99 for three months, or £17.99 annually.

There’s even a 12-month family membership available for £31.49. Creating a family group lets up to eight people share a membership, even on different consoles.

We also now know that these new Nintendo Switch Online privileges will come with certain stipulations too.

Subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online will come with the requirement of logging in each week to maintain NES games.

The latest information was found on the official Nintendo website, which confirms a steady login schedule is required.

“Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online can be played for up to seven days without an internet connection,” the Nintendo FAQ reads.

“If you are unable to launch Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online, then please try connecting to the internet again.”

Nintendo adding NES games as part of the benefits of having an Online subscription was a great idea, but this may sour the experience for some.
