Tom Brady reveals the man giving Patriots an advantage in the NFL this season

Brady has spoken about how pleased he is to have offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on the Patriots and revealed the lengths he goes to to help secure a victory.

“He’s just so smart, and so cerebral,” Brady said.

“It’s like a game of chess with Josh. He’s always trying to look to get his players some sort of advantage.

“He just digs through the film every day trying to look for things that will help us win a matchup.

“He’s so good with personnel, he’s so good with scheme, he’s good with anticipating what (opposing teams) have done, or if they’ll do again.

“He’s just a very talented (coach).”

McDaniels talents have not only been recognised by Brady.

In the off-season the Indianapolis Colts tried to tempt the coordinator with their head coaching position.

In response the Patriots offered McDaniels a five-year deal at a yearly rate which surpasses $4m a year at one point – he accepted.

According to the Network’s Ian Rapoport, the type of deal offered “never happens for a coordinator.”

“From what I’m being told he is being paid like a first-time head coach, the highest-paid coordinator in football by far,” Ian Rapoport said on NFL Gameday.

Brady is clearly happy that he will have McDaniels at the Patriots as he sees out his the last years of his career.

“There is trust,” said Brady.

“I know McDaniels is so talented. I know exactly what he sees.

“A lot of times, we end up seeing things the same way. And I love working with him.”
