New iPhone X could bring one of Apple’s biggest changes in years

With less than a week until big keynote, the new iPhone rumours are coming thick and fast.

Although nothing has yet been confirmed, all signs point to a trio of new smartphones being unveiled at the Apple Park HQ on Wednesday, September 12.

Invites were recently sent out to media showing a gold circle with the words ‘Gather round’.

If the predictions are correct fans will get an updated iPhone XS which may feature more power and improved camera.

There could also be a cheaper device that will include an LCD display and single rear camera rather than the flagships’ OLED and dual-lens setup.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

But perhaps the biggest change that customers will see is a new larger iPhone Xs which looks set to feature a giant 6.5-inch display.

And that’s not all that could be new on this giant phone.

A fresh report from suggests Apple is considering ditching the Plus branding it usually adds to its bigger iPhones with this 2018 model possibly being called the iPhone Xs Max.

The Apple rumour site says this news is “according to two sources familiar with Apple’s marketing plans”.

If a Max is revealed next week it will be one of the most major changes to the naming convention in years.

The popular Plus model was first announced back in 2014 with Apple continuing to release a new larger phone every year since then.

Along with the possible name change it’s also thought the new flagships could feature more memory, improved battery life and faster charging via a new plug.

There’s also the chance of some extra colour schemes with one leak suggesting a shiny gold design could be available at launch.

Although all eyes will be on the new iPhones there could also be plenty more products being revealed at the event.

The US technology firm is expected to show off an updated Apple Watch next week which could feature a bigger display, more power and extended battery life.

This wearable will, no doubt, expand on Apple’s already extensive health tracking and we could finally see the device getting an always-on display.

Other products that may get unveiled include new AirPods and Apple’s AirPower charging may finally get a release date.

Apple’s big keynote kicks off at 6pm BST next Wednesday and express.co.uk will bring you all the news live as it happens.
