Led Zeppelin Live 1975-1977: NEW book features UNSEEN tour photos

This year the iconic band celebrate their 50th anniversary and a new book has arrived featuring tons of photos, including ones never-before-seen from a selection of concerts between 1975-1977.

Led Zeppelin expert Dave Lewis has edited the collection of snaps from the period for the book, and spoke with Express.co.uk on what fans can expect.

The book features the work of three photographers who all shot the band during the latter half of the 1970s.

Terry O’Neill covers concerts in London, Tampa, Florida and New York’s Madison Square Garden, while Michael Brennan shot his in Detroit, Michigan and Baron Wolman covered Oakland, California.

On how the book came about, Dave said: “Initially we just talked about what they’d got and obviously the next step was for me to see what the portfolios looked like – that was when it was evident that we could make a very good book out of it.

“Very few of them have been seen and there’s quite a few off stage shots. Very rarely did Zeppelin get together and have any formal photos of the four of them.

“What we’ve got here is the latter era of Led Zeppelin when it was bigger than any other band. It was a proper light show, it was a big stage presentation, they were flamboyant.

“All these images, I knew, that if we put them in a sequence, would tell a story of how Led Zeppelin became the biggest band in the world. Partially in the latter era there just wasn’t anything as big.”

He continued: “If you look at the photos you can see the vastness of the audience and their popularity.

“I don’t think one photobook has been quite as focused as this.”

Led Zeppelin Live 1975-1977 also features some more personal shots of the late John Bonham, the band’s drummer who suddenly died in 1980, aged just 32.

One prominent shot features the drummer dressed as a droogie from Stanley Kubrick’s controversial film, A Clockwork Orange.

Dave added: “In a flamboyant era there would be lots of in jokes with Zeppelin.

“His roadie also dressed like one of the Clockwork Orange droogies too.”

Led Zeppelin Live 1975-1977 is out now.
