For those who missed out on attending Pokemon Go Fest, today looks set to be a big day.
Niantic has confirmed that they will be launching one of the big rewards from the summer event this week.
The Celebi Research Tasks were confirmed last week as being launched on Monday, August 20.
And while no exact time was shared by the development team in the official blurb, most fans believe the Celebi Quests will land around 9pm, BST.
That’s when Niantic time their big raids and events to run until, so it stands to reason they would do the same for the new research task.
vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
As with prior research tasks, Trainers will have a limited time to complete a set of assignments from Prof Willow, which will likely end in a Celebi encounter.
The Celebi Quests will be ranked as “Special Research” which cannot be obtained by spinning PokeStops.
They come directly from the Prof himself with tasks that will take you on a multiple part journey to make discoveries.
And for those who might worry they might miss out, Special Research tasks cannot be discarded.
Like Field Research, Trainers receive a reward for each Special Research task they complete. After they complete a series of Special Research tasks, Trainers unlock the grand prize.
Niantic has confirmed that Celebi will be the top prize from the Quests, and they will also be throwing in a few bonus encounters along the way too.
They’ve also revealed that there will be a nice bonus waiting for Trainers who already have Celebi, something that might give them the edge when PvP is introduced in the future.
Here’s the announcement from the development team, who confirm: “Professor Willow needs your help once again!
“It seems he’s been tracking the Mythical Pokémon Celebi, which has mysteriously appeared somewhere nearby. Can you help him locate the Time Travel Pokémon? Prepare yourself for August 20, when this Special Research becomes available worldwide!
“Along the way to discovering Celebi’s time-shifting nature, you’ll encounter tasks that will test your skills as a Trainer. Complete tasks to gain XP, receive useful items, and even encounter certain Pokémon on your journey!
“You can begin completing Special Research on Celebi at any time as long as you have done the third group of tasks related to the Special Research on Mew, and actively finish tasks related to both at your own pace!
“For those who have already completed the exclusive Pokémon GO Fest Special Research and have obtained the Time Travel Pokémon, completing this new Special Research will earn you a new bounty of Candy to power up your Celebi.
“The presence of Celebi has also drawn out the appearance of more Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region.
“Plus, Field Research relating to Pokémon discovered in the Johto region will be available throughout this special time. So get into the Johto spirit and get ready for a new adventure!
