NFL teams are gearing up for the start of the new season with it all beginning next month.
Rodgers is having to work with a new core of receivers after Jordy Nelson was cut from the Packers.
But, after a recent training session, Rodgers wasn’t best pleased with how new receivers J’Mon Moor, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St Brown were settling in.
“It was one of the worst cards sessions we’ve had,” Rodgers said. “I don’t know how you can make it any simpler.
“You literally have what the play would be in our terminology on the card, and the effort level was very low, especially with what I’m accustomed to.
“I’ve been running that period for a number of years. So it’s not a good start for us on the card period for the young guys.
“I think (DeAngelo) Yancey has really progressed, G-Mo (Geronimo Allison). Obviously, 16 (Jake Kumerow). But everybody else was kind of p*** poor.”

But Rodgers has explained the comments, saying it’s all to do with his will to succeed.
“I care about winning, No 1, and I’m going to say and do the things that I feel like can advance us,” Rodgers said.
“It’s going to be tough at some points. It’s not a popularity contest all the time.
“I don’t feel like when you make a statement like that that there needs to be some big response or feelings hurt or offense that somebody takes with it.
“If they do, they’re taking it the wrong way because this is a professional environment.
“I’m doing things that I feel like are in the best interest of the team from a leadership standpoint, and if no one else is going to stand up and criticize a bad practice, then maybe I need to be the one to do it. So, I did it.”
Rodgers also saw quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt depart Green Bay during the offseason as the Packers look to bounce back from a poor season last time out.
Rodgers spent a chunk of the season on the sidelines after injuring his shoulder.
The NFC North side averaged 27.4 points per game as Rodgers led them to a 4-1 start last year, then 17.3 in a 3-7 stretch after he broke his collarbone.
And Rodgers has admitted his threshold for mistakes isn’t as flexible as it used to be.
“I’m getting older and grumpier,” Rodgers said. “I’ve been at this for a long time.
“I’m tired, too; we’re all a little tired. When you get a little tired, the fuse gets a little shorter.
“Again, you’re in like the 14th play of a 14-play drive and you’ve got low effort level and an MA (missed assignment), that’s a little frustrating.”
