Fallout 76 update: Beta release news following big Bethesda Quakecon reveal

Bethesda is working hard to get their next crop of titles ready for the big 2018/19 game seasons.

The next major release from the publisher will be Fallout 76, an online-only take on the popular post-apocalyptic adventure series.

Differing from both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, Fallout 76multiplayermulitplayer series that focuses on PvP and PvE interactions.

Bethesda recently revealed more on the game during Quakecon, and months before the big Fallout 76 beta is released on PS4, Xbox and PC.

This included how the development team plan to use players who look to stir up trouble online.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Players who find others roaming the wastelands will be able to open fire on them and do a lower level of damage.

And if the player being attacked fights back, this will lead to a situation where both players can be killed.

If a player is killed in this way, all the valuable junk being carried by them goes to the victor, as well as a cap reward based on level.

However, it’s also possible that a player can be killed while not wanting to engage in full combat.

But according to Bethesda, this griefing will not lead to any kind of reward, but will instead see them labelled a wanted murderer.

It sounds a little like going rogue in The Division, with the player’s general location popping on the maps of those in the surrounding areas.

A bounty is placed on the murder’s head, which comes from their stash of caps.

This will likely be one of the many new systems being tried out by Bethesda during the Fallout 76 beta.

These new test sessions will give fans a chance at trying the game before it launches in November.

The bad news is that we haven’t been told about an open-beta, meaning if you want to play the game early, you have to pre-order it.

The official beta release date has been confirmed for October 2018. However, Bethesda is also planning at least one smaller test session before the main event.

The studio’s VP, Pete Hines, confirmed as much on Twitter, revealing that players would be picked at random for the small testing period.

Answering questions on the subject, Hines replied: “Just sometime before the full BETA. It could take place 5 days or three weeks before and still be in the same month.

“Whatever the team feels it needs in terms of feedback and testing to get ready for BETA.”

Hines added: “It’d just be randomised from folks in the BETA. You don’t have to do anything. It’s how we’ve done it before.”

It should be noted that in an earlier FAQ post on the Bethesda website, the company confirmed that the beta would start on Xbox One.

“The B.E.T.A. will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net). Stay tuned for exact timing for each platform here and @Fallout on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

“Please note that the B.E.T.A. for Xbox One will begin first, followed by other platforms.”

So it stands to reason that the first gamers to get access will come from the Microsoft console.
