Travis Hunter’s father has been given permission by a court to attend this week’s NFL Draft in Green Bay to see his son’s professional fate revealed.

The two-way star’s dad, Travis Hunter Sr., is currently serving a year of probation under home confinement after a 2023 arrest on drug and gun charges.

Hunter Sr. will be allowed to travel to Wisconsin on Wednesday and must return to his home on Friday, per the Palm Beach Post.

Hunter Jr. won the Heisman Trophy as a two-way star at Colorado last year and is expected to play both offense and defense in the NFL. Hunter is expected to be chosen within the first five picks on Thursday.

It was during Hunter’s acceptance speech for the Heisman when he gave a shoutout to his dad, who was not allowed to be in New York City for the ceremony.

‘[My father’s] not here and wasn’t able to make it but I know you’re watching on TV,’ Hunter said. ‘Dad, I love you. For all the stuff you went through, man… Now look at your oldest son. I did it for you, man.’

Hunter has long gotten public support from former Colorado teammate Shedeur Sanders and his father, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders.

Hunter’s fiancee, Leanna Lenee, has also been by his side at every turn, despite her causing controversy on social media late last year.

With the Titans expected to pick former Miami quarterback Cam Ward first overall, Hunter could go off the board as soon as No 2 to the Browns.

The Giants and Patriots have the next two picks, with plenty of needs on both sides of the ball and would be great fits for Hunter.

Hunter now knows one of the biggest nights of his life will have his father by his side, unlike many of his games and the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
