Chie Kelly, 51, a translator, provided a compelling account of her purported encounter with what she believes to be the Loch Ness Monster. While photographing her husband, Scott, near the loch, Ms. Kelly observed a serpentine form moving in the water.
Description of the Observed Creature
Ms. Kelly detailed how the unidentified entity appeared to perform a slow rotation on the water’s surface before submerging beneath the waves, disappearing from view. She estimates the anomaly was approximately 100 meters away when first spotted, moving at a “steady speed” from right to left, and concluded its movements around 200 meters from the shore.
“We had lunch in the Dores Inn and then began walking around. I was taking pictures with my Canon camera of Scott and our daughter Alisa, who was then five, when about 200 meters from the shoreline, moving from right to left at a consistent pace, was this creature. It was rotating and turning at times. We did not observe a head or neck,” she stated.
Initial Speculations and Dismissed Theories
After observing the object for several minutes until it vanished, Ms. Kelly initially considered alternative explanations. She pondered whether it could have been an otter, multiple otters, or even a seal. However, the absence of a visible head and the fact that it did not resurface for air led her to dismiss these possibilities.

Ms. Kelly further described the unusual motion of the entity on the surface. “It was making a peculiar movement on the surface. We did not hear any noise. There were strange shapes under the surface. I could not discern any colours – the water was dark.”
Regarding size, Ms. Kelly stated, “I could not accurately judge its length, but the two sections that were visible were less than two meters long in total. I am uncertain what it was, but it was definitely a creature – an animal. Initially, I hesitated to share the photographs publicly due to concerns about potential ridicule.”

This incident occurred just nine days after another reported Nessie sighting by Steve Valentine, a father of four. Mr. Valentine claims to have seen something while on a boat with his children.
