Dune: Awakening Release Pushed to June
The launch of Dune: Awakening, the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online game (MMO) set in the iconic science fiction universe, has been delayed. Originally slated for a May 20th debut, the open-world survival title will now arrive on June 10th. Developer Funcom cited player feedback from the Persistent Closed Beta as the reason for the postponement.
Addressing Beta Feedback and Announcing New Beta Weekend
According to Funcom, this schedule adjustment will enable the development team to thoroughly incorporate community feedback gathered during the Persistent Closed Beta phase. Consequently, the official release date is now set for June 10th, with players who pre-ordered the game gaining early access starting June 5th.
“Dune: Awakening is an ambitious project,” Funcom stated. “This is large-scale multiplayer survival, and we are achieving unprecedented advancements in gameplay and technology within the genre. Ensuring a polished and successful launch is our priority.”
Larger Scale Beta Test Planned
Funcom further indicated that the revised timeline accommodates a significantly expanded beta weekend scheduled for next month, allowing for even greater player participation. Details regarding this upcoming beta opportunity are expected to be disclosed shortly.
