Slovak PM Fico Angrily Rejects EU Criticism Over Moscow Visit Plan

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, speaking to reporters in Luxembourg after a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday, conveyed the concerns of several member states. She stated that “any participation in the May 9th parades, or celebrations, in Moscow will not be taken lightly on the European side.” Kallas emphasized the gravity of Russia’s ongoing “full-scale war in Europe” as the reason for this stance.

Kallas further elaborated, stating, “We made it very clear that we do not want any candidate country to participate in these events on the 9th of May in Moscow.” She urged member states to instead dispatch representatives to Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, to demonstrate solidarity.

“Nobody Dictates My Travel,” Fico Declares

“I will go to Moscow on May 9,” Fico asserted in a public statement, directly addressing Kallas.
