Fatal Plane Crash in New York State Claims Life

A devastating plane crash in New York State has tragically resulted in at least one death. The twin-engine aircraft, carrying six individuals, crashed in a muddy field approximately 50 miles south of Albany, the state capital, on Saturday, April 12th. This is a developing aviation accident story.

Aircraft Details and Crash Location

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that the aircraft involved was a Mitsubishi MU-2B. Its intended destination was Columbia County Airport, near Hudson. However, the aircraft crashed near Copake, in Columbia County, New York.

Emergency Response

According to Undersheriff Jacqueline Salvatore, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call around midday US time (5pm GMT). Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the plane crash to begin rescue and recovery efforts.
