Adobe Photoshop to Feature Agentic AI for Context-Aware Photo Editing

Adobe Photoshop is set to integrate agentic artificial intelligence, dubbed a “creative agent” by the company, into its software. This innovative feature will manifest as a new, interactive Actions panel, designed to intelligently propose context-sensitive edits based on image analysis. For example, the AI could suggest removing individuals from backgrounds or enhancing depth of field by blurring elements behind the primary subject. Users will simply need to click on a suggested action to automatically implement the edit, streamlining the photo editing workflow with intelligent AI photo editing tools.

Streamlining Photo Editing with AI-Powered Suggestions

For veteran Photoshop users accustomed to laborious manual adjustments, such as intricate masking and layer manipulation for targeted image modifications, this new feature represents a significant shift. While Adobe has already incorporated AI functionalities like content-aware fill for expanding canvases and Distraction Removal for eliminating unwanted objects, the agentic AI takes automation a step further by proactively anticipating user needs and suggesting relevant edits. This aims to simplify complex tasks and accelerate the photo editing process.

Natural Language Prompts and Step-by-Step Guidance

Adobe envisions a future where Photoshop users can interact with agents using natural language prompts, further simplifying the process of learning and executing complex edits. While the agent can autonomously perform tasks, it will also provide users with a breakdown of steps involved in achieving desired results. In a demonstration, an agent was prompted to “clean up” an image and add a text box. The agent then outlined a series of actions, including: background people removal, auto-brightness adjustment, removal of distracting elements, creation of a “subject” layer, creation of a text layer, and layer organization. This fosters user understanding and control alongside AI assistance.

Premiere Pro to Enhance Video Editing with Media Intelligence

Similarly, Adobe is expanding AI capabilities in Premiere Pro, building upon the recently introduced Media Intelligence feature. This feature analyzes video content for objects and composition, enabling efficient footage searching. A future agent will empower users to direct the AI to generate rough video cuts, automating initial stages of the video editing process.

AI as a Creative Assistant, Not Replacement

“While AI cannot substitute human creative inspiration, with user input, it can make informed suggestions to initiate projects,” Adobe’s spokesperson stated in a blog post. “It also serves as a valuable learning tool, demonstrating how to execute intricate tasks with minimal input, thereby facilitating editor growth.” Ultimately, Premiere Pro’s creative agent is intended to assist editors in refining shot selection, adjusting color grading, mixing audio tracks, and more. Furthermore, Adobe recently launched Generative Extend, an AI-driven tool that intelligently adds seconds to video clips to seamlessly accommodate transitions, showcasing ongoing advancements in AI video editing.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Technology Showcase at Adobe Max London

Adobe is scheduled to unveil the underlying technology powering its initial AI agent, specifically for Photoshop, at the Adobe Max event in London on April 24th. This event will provide a deeper look into the future of AI-assisted creative workflows within Adobe’s suite of professional tools, marking a significant step forward in the evolution of digital media creation.
