New Jersey Hairstylist Accused of Soliciting Tinder Match to Murder Ex-Boyfriend

A New Jersey hairstylist has been arrested after allegedly soliciting a man she met on Tinder to murder her former boyfriend, a Philadelphia police officer, and his teenage daughter. Jaclyn Diiorio, 26, faces charges after her Tinder match reported the alleged murder-for-hire plot, where she purportedly offered $12,000 for the killings.

Details of the Alleged Plot Unfold

According to court documents, Jaclyn Diiorio connected with the informant on Tinder, and they engaged in multiple phone calls and text message exchanges between March 31 and April 3. Initially, the interactions were intended for dating purposes, as stated by Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay during a press conference.

However, conversations reportedly took a dark turn when Diiorio expressed her desire for her ex-boyfriend’s death, revealing his profession as a Philadelphia police officer. By Friday, the informant, disturbed by the direction of the conversations, informed county prosecutors about the alleged murder-for-hire scheme. Detectives then contacted Philadelphia police to alert both them and the intended targets.

A probable cause statement revealed that “the informant advised that Diiorio has been insistent about killing her ex-boyfriend.”

Victim’s Account and Previous Relationship

Authorities interviewed the Philadelphia police officer, who confirmed he had a prior relationship with Diiorio. He stated that they initially met when she was his barber and their relationship ended on March 6. According to reports, the couple had been dating for approximately a year.

Jaclyn Diiorio, 26, was taken into custody after allegedly offering a Tinder match $12,000 to carry out the murder of her ex-boyfriend and his daughter.

Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay briefed the media on the charges during a news conference.

Records indicate a previously tumultuous dynamic between Diiorio and the officer. Diiorio had filed a temporary restraining order against him in the summer of 2024, which she later rescinded.

Down Payment and Arrest at Dollar General

Following the interview with the officer, law enforcement instructed the informant to meet with Diiorio at a Dollar General store in Glendora. There, she allegedly provided the informant with over $500 in cash as an initial payment for the planned murders. She reportedly stated that the remaining balance would be paid in installments upon completion of the double homicide.

As soon as the cash transaction occurred, officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department Special Response Team apprehended Diiorio.

During the arrest, authorities discovered an unmarked bottle containing pills suspected to be alprazolam, a medication commonly prescribed for anxiety.

Charges and Court Appearance

Diiorio is formally charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

She is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on Friday.
