Clayton Echard and Gabby Windey Engage in Social Media Spat
Clayton Echard and Gabby Windey are currently at the center of a public disagreement played out on social media platforms, prompting inquiries into the origins of their renewed conflict.
To understand the current discord, it’s necessary to revisit their initial encounter on The Bachelor. Gabby was a contestant vying for Clayton’s attention during season 26 of the ABC dating competition in 2022. Following the fantasy suite dates, Clayton confessed to being in love with all three finalists â Gabby, Rachel Recchia, and Susie Evans â and openly discussed his intimate experiences with Gabby and Rachel. Although Clayton pleaded with Gabby and Rachel to remain after Susie’s self-elimination, he ultimately ended his relationships with both to pursue a reconciliation with Susie. (Clayton and Susie subsequently ended their relationship later in 2022. Gabby, meanwhile, became a co-lead on The Bachelorette alongside Rachel. After publicly sharing that she was dating a woman in 2023, Gabby married Robby Hoffman earlier this year.)
Years later, the friction between Gabby and Clayton resurfaced when Gabby made comments about her former partner during an April 2025 podcast appearance. She critiqued his physical appearance and humorously suggested his dance routines were visually unpleasant. Clayton responded by accusing her of “bullying.” Gabby retorted, claiming his accusations were hypocritical, considering he had “exploited [her] sexual life on TV” without her consent. Clayton further addressed the situation in a subsequent video, reinforcing his stance and sharing purported direct messages between himself and Gabby.

Feud Re-Ignited
During her appearance on the “Las Culturistas” podcast in April 2025, Gabby made disparaging remarks about Clayton’s appearance, using colorful language. “Have you seen his dancing videos? Oh, my God. They will make you run,” she stated. “Iâm going to send you one and youâll wish you didnât have eyes.”

Clayton Accuses Gabby of âBullyingâ
In response to Gabby’s critical comments, Clayton characterized her remarks as “bullying.” In an Instagram video posted in April 2025, Clayton asserted, “Thereâs no other way around it. Youâre attacking me for my physical appearance, youâre attacking me for a passion that I love thatâs changed my life. Itâs unnecessary and itâs not funny.”
He further commented, “You have such a large platform and youâre setting a really poor example, which is just disheartening. I donât want people to be scared to try something new because [of] online bullying, like what youâre doing. Do better, Gabby.”
Gabby Counters Claytonâs âBullyingâ Claims
Gabby responded to Claytonâs video with her own TikTok post in April 2025, countering his accusations. “Oh, thatâs rich. Itâs rich coming from a man who exploited my sexual life on TV without me knowing,” she declared.
She elaborated, “You were intimate with âthe both of usâ you said on national TV in front of millions without having a conversation with me or another woman first. So, you humiliated us in front of each other and in front of everybody watching the TV show. Sure, people can infer but nothing has been said so explicitly [until your season], and those kinds of details should come from a woman. Oh, Iâm a mean girl? As a straight, white man, maybe you should do better with your power.”
Clayton Deems Gabbyâs Reply âDisappointingâ and Shares Alleged Direct Messages
Clayton provided a further response to Gabbyâs TikTok, expressing his “disappointment” at her chosen approach to the situation.
âEssentially saying itâs justified to make fun of someoneâs physical appearance, to attack a passion of theirs thatâs changed their life if they hurt you in the past. So youâre teaching your audience to be vengeful, to not forgive. And I donât agree with that,â he conveyed via Instagram in April 2025. âYou have every right to be upset with me and what I did on the show. Iâve done everything in my power to apologize. Iâve taken accountability time and time again. Iâve reached out multiple times and extended the olive branch and you want nothing to do with me.â
Clayton proceeded to present alleged direct message exchanges between himself and Gabby, where he had reportedly apologized for his behavior on The Bachelor and requested a conversation. Gabby purportedly replied, indicating she had a “busy week up ahead.”
âGabby, you donât ever have to forgive me if you donât want to. But, continually bringing me [up] three and half years later is unnecessary. Iâve been doing my own thing, Iâve been dealing with my own drama for the last few years. False accusations after false accusations. And then youâre just doing a pile on effect, OK?â he stated. âI think I have every right to be upset with what you said because imagine if the roles were reversed. Imagine if I made fun of your physical looks, imagine if I made fun of your passions. There would be an uprise online, as there should be and thatâs why this is happening. Itâs not OK, Gabby, that you can just attack me, OK? Itâs bullying. I wish we couldâve done this in private.â
Clayton asserted that he did not intend to “air your business out” on television, but suggested Gabby, as a former lead in the Bachelor franchise, should “know” how the process functions.
âStop with this nonsense. You know I couldnât have an off-camera conversation. You know that I canât just orchestrate that as a lead,â he claimed, stating he had “begged” show producers to allow off-camera discussions with the women. âAt the end of the day, youâre not going to agree with what I did, thatâs fine. But that doesnât give you the right â because of what I did three and a half years ago for you to attack my physical appearance and what Iâm doing today. Itâs wrong Gabby. Do better.”
He captioned his Instagram post, âIn response to Gabbyâs TikTokâŠ.Attacking someoneâs looks and their hobbies is never ok, especially years later after theyâve taken accountability & apologized multiple times for their actions. But if you want to continue to be vengeful, you will. Just know that I wonât stand for it anymore.â
