UK Expected to Host 2035 Women’s World Cup
The United Kingdom is heavily favored to be the host nation for the 2035 Women’s World Cup, emerging as the sole valid bidder for the prestigious tournament, according to Fifa President Gianni Infantino.
Joint Bid from Home Nations
In March, England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland collectively submitted a formal expression of interest to stage the World Cup across the four home nations.

Spain Considers Joint Bid
Last week, Rafael Louzan, president of Spain’s football federation, indicated that they were “exploring” the possibility of a joint bid with Portugal and Morocco. However, this did not materialize into a formal bid.
UK Bid is Only Submission
With the deadline for expressions of interest now passed, Infantino confirmed that the UK’s proposal is the only bid submitted for the 2035 edition. Simultaneously, the United States is poised to host the 2031 competition.
Infantino’s Confirmation
Speaking at a Uefa congress in Belgrade, Infantino stated, “Today, as part of the bidding process, I can confirm that we have received one bid for 2031 and one valid bid for 2035.”
He elaborated, “The 2031 bid is from the United States of America, potentially with other Concacaf members, and the 2035 bid originates from Europe and the home nations.”
Boosting Women’s Football
Infantino concluded, “The pathway is now established for the Women’s World Cup in both 2031 and 2035 to be held in prominent footballing nations, which will further enhance the growth and popularity of women’s football globally.”
