Activision, the publisher behind the popular Call of Duty franchise, has officially announced the launch schedule for Warzone Season 3. This highly anticipated season promises a wealth of new content, including fresh Battle Pass rewards, additional maps, and exciting game modes across Black Ops 6, Zombies, and Warzone. A major highlight for players is the return of the iconic Verdansk map to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Warzone Season 3 Launch Time and Date

According to an announcement on the official Call of Duty website, Warzone Season 3 is set to launch on April 2nd at 9:00 AM Pacific Time (PT). For players in the United Kingdom, this translates to a release time of 5:00 PM British Summer Time (BST).

Activision elaborated, stating that Season 3 will immerse players in “epic, globe-trotting battles,” introducing a diverse array of content. This includes five new Multiplayer maps, a 6v6 map variant, six new weapons, the new Shattered Veil Zombies map, and the much-awaited comeback of Verdansk to Call of Duty: Warzone. Season 03 officially begins on April 2nd at 9:00 AM PT.

Verdansk Map Release Delayed

However, the return of the beloved Verdansk map will not be simultaneous with the Season 3 launch. Players will need to wait slightly longer to redeploy to this classic battleground.

Activision has confirmed that the Verdansk map will become available on April 3rd at 5:00 PM BST (UK time). This means the Verdansk re-introduction is scheduled for 24 hours after the initial Season 3 release.

Return to Verdansk: Rebuilt and Enhanced

Activision revealed that Verdansk has been “rebuilt from the ground up,” and encouraged players to explore the revamped original Big Map in Call of Duty: Warzone. The re-release includes returning features, classic gameplay modes, and a substantial launch event offering 20 free rewards.

Players are encouraged to prepare their preferred loadouts, including classic weapons, and prepare to drop into Verdansk on April 3rd at 9:00 AM PT, which is one day after the launch of Black Ops 6 Season 03 on April 2nd.

Return to Verdansk Event

The launch of Verdansk will be accompanied by a special “Return to Verdansk” event, scheduled to run from April 3rd to April 15th.

During this event, players will engage in a treasure hunt, locating hidden safes scattered across Verdansk’s twelve zones. These safes are rumored to contain exclusive rewards, including the limited-edition TrailBlazer Operator Skin, available only during the event.

Gameplay Adjustments for Verdansk

The reintroduction of Verdansk will also bring changes to gameplay mechanics. Activision is implementing a “back to basics” approach for certain gameplay elements, notably refining the game’s omnimovement system.

The omnimovement system will be adjusted to better harmonize with the specific characteristics of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Verdansk map and its diverse combat scenarios and engagement styles.

Specifically, the developers are reducing movement speed enhancements and adjusting slide friction, aiming to recapture the gameplay feel reminiscent of Warzone’s earlier iterations.

Verdansk will support matches with 150 players upon release and will feature the return of the original in-game announcer and classic cinematics. Players will also have the ability to fire weapons while parachuting into the map.

Further enhancements and content additions for Verdansk are planned for a mid-season update later in the year.

Season 3 Battle Pass and Rewards

As expected with a new season launch, Season 3 introduces a brand-new Battle Pass, loaded with a wide array of rewards.

The Season 3 Battle Pass features new Operator skins, including appearances for Mace and Hudson.

In total, the Battle Pass offers over 110 rewards, encompassing two new weapons, the Monolithic Suppressor Attachment, and numerous other cosmetic and gameplay enhancements.

BlackCell Battle Pass

For players seeking even more exclusive content, a separate BlackCell Battle Pass is also available. The BlackCell Pass includes variant skins for Mace and Hudson, the new Operator R0-Z3, a unique Martial Arts emote, COD Points, and XP boosts.
