Martin Frizell Shares Heartfelt Mother’s Day Tribute to Fiona Phillips Amid Alzheimer’s Diagnosis

Martin Frizell, former boss of This Morning, has publicly expressed his support for Fiona Phillips, sharing a touching photograph on Mother’s Day. The image, taken four years prior to Phillips’ diagnosis with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, offers a glimpse into happier times before the condition’s onset. Frizell, who recently departed from his role, conveyed the emotional difficulty of the day in a poignant online post. The upload to his Instagram Stories on Sunday featured his partner in a moment of joy, preceding her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

Candid Photo of Fiona Phillips Pre-Diagnosis Surfaces

The endearing photograph captures Fiona Phillips smiling and waving towards the camera. The former morning television personality, aged 64, received her Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2022, making the announcement public the following year. In this personal update, posted to his 8,751 followers, Martin Frizell openly acknowledged the challenges the family faces, offering a rare look into their private life.

Accompanying the image, he wrote: “If Mother’s Day is tough, you’re not alone. Share the good times. This was Fiona four years ago just before symptoms started. It’s my favourite picture of a wonderful mum.”

“Mum of the Year” Recognition Highlighted

In a subsequent post, Frizell showcased a photograph of a specially engraved glass award Fiona received in 2007, commemorating her title as “Mum of the Year”.

He commented: “This was more important in our house than any BAFTA, NTA, or RTS.”
