Amanda Holden’s Mother’s Day Remembrance of Son Theo

Television personality Amanda Holden has received support after sharing a touching Mother’s Day message on Instagram, commemorating her late son, Theo. The Britain’s Got Talent judge, aged 54, is mother to two daughters, Alexa, 19, and Hollie, 12, with her husband, Chris Hughes.

Poignant Instagram Post

To observe the occasion, Amanda Holden posted a monochrome photograph featuring herself and her two daughters embracing on a bed. In the image, Holden is seen holding her daughters closely and affectionately kissing their foreheads. She captioned the picture: “Happy Mother’s Day. I’m so lucky to have my girls.” The ITV presenter added with heartfelt emotion: “We never forget our son #Theo. To all of you who have loved and lost or are journeying towards family… My family send you a big hug xxx.”

Remembering Theo on Anniversary of Loss

Holden’s moving post comes shortly after the 14th anniversary of Theo’s passing. Theo was tragically stillborn at seven months of gestation in 2011, after a medical scan revealed the cessation of his heartbeat.

Last year, Amanda Holden shared a heartfelt tribute to Theo on Instagram, honoring his memory with the words: “You would have reached teenage years today… #Theo”

Sharing Her Experience to Support Baby Loss Charity

Speaking on her Heart Breakfast radio program, Amanda Holden partnered with the baby loss charity Aching Arms, discussing her “difficult” experience. She recounted: “I will never forget when I experienced something, that I imagine is very similar to your [experience].”

Personal Account of Baby Loss

“We experienced the loss of our baby Theo at 28 weeks, and they very sensitively moved me to a private room so I could give birth to him without being subjected to the sounds of newborns in a typical maternity ward.

“Often that’s overlooked, the importance of such small considerations. I also remember the staff member who, during a follow-up consultation, remarked ‘I know you’re going home empty handed’ to me.

“I felt like some kind of game show contestant because of that phrasing, and it’s precisely this type of language that I know this charity will assist in helping people avoid, and educate them on the optimal way to approach such a profoundly painful situation. It is simply devastating.”
