Barbara Alyn Woods Reveals Past Romance with Jerry Seinfeld
Actress Barbara Alyn Woods has disclosed that she and Jerry Seinfeld shared a history prior to her guest role in Seinfeld. The actress revealed the depth of their past relationship before her appearance on the acclaimed sitcom.
“I played a character who went on a date with Jason Alexander’s character,” Woods, known for her role in One Tree Hill, stated during the March 28 episode of the “Drama Queens” podcast. “Do you want to hear some gossip? I previously dated someone involved with that program.”
Guesses Before the Big Reveal
Before Woods identified her former flame, names such as Larry David and Michael Richards were suggested.
“No, I wish!” Woods joked, reacting to the suggestion of a romantic link to the Curb Your Enthusiasm creator.
It Was Jerry Seinfeld
Woods then disclosed that the individual she dated was indeed Seinfeld.
“I initially met him at a comedy club, prior to his success with Seinfeld,” Woods recounted about their initial connection. “He was performing stand-up comedy and we even viewed the pilot episode together when he completed it.”
Woods mentioned that Seinfeld, now 70, inquired if she would like to watch an early screening of the pilot before its official release. Asked about Seinfeld’s personality, Woods enthusiastically described him as a wonderful person.
“He approached comedy with immense seriousness. I believe many comedians share this trait—very intense individuals and not always as one might anticipate,” she commented on the actor. “[He was] exceptionally intelligent and remarkably kind to his admirers.”
From Romance to Friendship
Although Woods and Seinfeld’s romantic relationship was not long-lasting, they maintained a positive rapport. Their connection remained strong enough for Woods to secure a minor part in the show during its sixth season.
“We ultimately became friends,” she shared. “And I eventually appeared on the show after our dating period.”
Seinfeld and Woods’ Later Relationships
Seinfeld later married Jessica Sklar. The couple, who married in 1999 and are still together, have three children: Sascha, Julian, and Shepherd.
Woods, on her side, married John Lind in 1991. They have three daughters, Natalie, Emily, and Alyvia. Woods and Lind divorced in 2021. The actress has been in a relationship with Golden Bachelorette alum Mark Anderson since October 2024. (Mark is Kelsey Anderson’s father, who became engaged to Joey Graziadei on The Bachelor the previous year.)
Woods admitted on Friday that she was attracted to Mark when he initially appeared in Bachelor Nation during the hometown visits.

“Mark was present, being charming, with his dimples and kind demeanor,” she gushed. “He was just in the background—the dad.”
Woods revealed that she located Mark on social media and decided to send him a direct message. However, she didn’t receive a response initially as he was filming The Golden Bachelorette. Upon his return, they finally connected.
“It’s been constant ever since,” she continued. “He’s such a great man. I just have to adapt to being with good individuals. He is genuinely a good person.”
