ROCKFORD, Ill. — A free bowling event in Rockford honored Vietnam War veterans thanks to a collaboration between three local organizations.
Local Groups Host Free Bowling for Vietnam Veterans
Assisting Hands Rockford, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Don Carter Lanes jointly organized the event. Participating veterans were treated to complimentary bowling and lunch.
Event Aims to Foster Camaraderie Among Veterans
Janine Idstein, Director of Business Development at Assisting Hands, stated that the event provided a valuable opportunity for veterans to connect. “Many of our clients are veterans, and we encouraged them to attend, even if they chose not to bowl,” Idstein explained. “The goal was to offer a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon where they could socialize with fellow veterans, with both lunch and bowling provided at no cost. Itβs a wonderful occasion for them.”
