Meghan Markle’s Varied Interests Unveiled
While her series highlights Meghan Markle’s passion for entertaining, culinary arts, horticulture, and interior design, it also illuminates a range of her additional hobbies.
Game Nights and Mahjong
In one episode, Markle hosts a game night for her acquaintances.
“We recently began learning mahjong together,” she disclosed. “Originating in 19th-century China, we play a version known as American mahjong. I’ve grown to appreciate mahjong not just for the game itself, which is enjoyable, but for the shared experience of learning something new with companions. The game fosters deeper connections and strengthens friendships.”
Sporting Pursuits
In another episode, her friend, Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai, mentioned Meghan’s fondness for pickleball. Markle herself has also revealed some of her favored music styles.
Musical Preferences
“I frequently listen to ’70s soft rock, yacht rock, and Soul music,” Markle stated in episode five, “along with French dinner party music.”
Culinary Tastes and Spice Tolerance
Regarding food, Markle expressed a “very high tolerance” for spicy flavors.
“Even during my childhood, despite limited resources, we traveled extensively,” she recounted. “My mother was a travel agent, exposing us to diverse tastes and global cuisines. My mother prepared gumbo regularly, and Soul food, known for its robust and spicy character, is something I crave. I naturally lean towards intense flavors and am gradually introducing my family to my palate.”
