Beautiful seaside town with UK's best beach hotel run by Love Island star

If you want a gorgeous romantic weekend away, then Whitby is the perfect place to escape to – and now it has one of the best hotels in the whole of the UK, perfect for your stay. Run by Love Island’s Montana Brown and her fiance Mark O’Connor, Saltmoore was just voted the best beach hotel by The Times.

The Times writes: “She’s transformed a run-of-the-mill seaside hotel outside the town into a super-sexy bolt hole with a spectacular, relatively empty beach a ten-minute walk away. Saltmoore House has 43 chic bedrooms inspired by the striking coastal surroundings, with a further 29 in the family-friendly Beach House in the grounds, and Brown now has a spa expansion in her sights.”

Celebrity chef Tommy Banks oversees dining and there’s a priority on locally sourced Yorkshire produce

Aside from the gorgeous hotel, Whitby is well worth a visit in of itself – famed for fish and chips, and its rich history this seaside town has plenty to explore.

The charming coastal town located in North Yorkshire, England which sits at the mouth of the River Esk, and is famous for its scenic beauty. The town has dramatic cliffside views of the ocean while being near the North York Moors National Park, but is also known for its brilliant golden beaches, winding cobblestone streets, and picturesque harbour.

Perched high above the town are the ruins of Whitby Abbey, dating back to the 7th century – but fair warning it’s not an easy walk up.

The abbey is atop the cliffs and to reach it, you’ll have to climb a whopping 199 steps to see it up close.
