Bethesda NEWS: Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield release date, Morrowind remake, Fallout 76 beta

Bethesda has revealed more about the Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield release dates.

But it’s bad news for fans, because according to Bethesda’s Todd Howard, it’s going to be a long time before we see these games.

“Everyone should be very patient,” Howard told The Guardian. “It’s gonna take a while for what we have in mind to come out.”

Howard also revealed more about Starfield’s development cycle, revealing that the game entered active development after Fallout 4.

“We’ve been talking about it for a decade,” he said of Starfield.

“We started putting things on paper five, six years ago, and active development was from when we finished Fallout 4, so two and a half, three years.”

Howard’s comments suggest that Starfield will launch before Elder Scrolls, although it’s thought both games will launch on the next-gen of consoles.

Morrowind fans have been dealt a blow, as Bethesda rules out a remaster.

In the same interview with The Guardian, Todd Howard said that he’d “rather you play Morrowind the way it was” and that “the age is part of its identity”.

“For Skyrim Remastered, we had done some work on it but it was already pretty visually close,” Howard explains.

“But for something like Morrowind, my personal preference is not to remaster it. We [also] get asked a lot to remaster [1997’s] Fallout 1, and I usually say, if you have a PC you can play Fallout the way it was.

“I think that’s how it should be.”

But it’s not all bad news, because Howard believes that streaming technology is definitely coming, which will make it easier than ever to access classic games.

“I think streaming technology is definitely coming, and it’s gonna make people’s access to games infinitely easier,” Howard continues. “You’ve seen it happen to music and movies and I think it’s a great thing.”

The Fallout 76 beta release date may be a mystery, but fans can keep themselves busy with this new Fallout 4 mod.

A new fan-made DLC for Fallout 4 is scheduled to be released later this month.

The Northern Springs DLC is said to be bigger than both the official Nuka World and Far Harbor expansions from Bethesda.

It will be located towards the top left of the Fallout 4 map and can be explored without doing the main questline.

Northern Springs will add more than 25 quests as well as four voiced followers.

Even more impressive is that it was made by fans.
