Avengers 4 deaths: Doctor Strange star – This ‘INGENIOUS’ plot twist is like Sherlock

Fans have been driving themselves crazy trying to guess how Avengers 4 will answer the biggest cliffhanger in blockbuster history.

Nine more months of trying to figure out how the Thanos major Marvel heroes can be restored from piles of dust.

The filmmakers and MCU boss Kevin Feige have repeatedly said that no theories have come close yet. They have also said that all the deaths seen on screen are “final.”

One Marvel star, though, already knows and let slip he is, “Thrilled, thrilled, thrilled and thrilled” with the ingenious twist that comes next.

Doctor Strange, of course, is the only person in the universe who knows how to defeat Thanos.

His alter-ego, also known as Benedict Cumberbatch, is also one of the select few who has been trusted with the full Avengers storyline. Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo and other loose-lipped MCU stars are unlikely to get the same information.

What Cumberbatch said will get fans even more excited.

Cumberbatch told the New York Times his reaction when The Russo brother explained the shock ending of Avengers Infinity War and how it will lead into Avengers 4.

He said: “I was thrilled. Thrilled, thrilled, thrilled and thrilled with the pitch for the second film. And thrilled by the ingenuity of the whole thing. And to be in an audience and experience that was something else.

“I’ve been part of Sherlock, with a very famous cliffhanger. It’s a very brave thing for movies that are that big, bold and colourful.”

By second film he must mean Avengers 4. He can’t be referrring to Infinity War since that is technically Avengers 3, so he can only be talking about the second part to the ongoing story, which means Avengers 4.

Fans scouring every interview for clues may seize on the Sherlock parallels refering to the famous Reichenbach Fall episode which ended Season 2. After an agonising year-long wait, viewers finally discovered that Sherlock had elaborately faked his own death.

This is clearly not the case with Infinity War, since half the universe would have trouble co-ordinating mass deaths, however it will continue to fuel all the speculation that some form of misdirection took place, whether on Thanos or audiences themselves.
