The scary skyline appeared in the city of Mogilev, the third largest city in Belarus with a population of around 381,000.
Photos taken by local residents shows a huge tornado-shaped black cloud suspended over different parts of the city,
The scene turned apocalyptic around 9.30pm and one shocked resident described the scene unfolding before her eyes.
Maria Kurtikova said: “I have never seen anything like that before.”
Another eyewitness said: “It was getting dark at this time and I noticed something unusual when I was walking through a supermarket car park to do my shopping.
