PS4 news: PS5 release date, Epic Games Fortnite reveal, God of War update

Having scored massive success with the PS4 and PS4 Pro range of consoles, there’s been a lot interest in Sony’s future plans.

The PS5 release date could be announced any day, although it seems likely that fans will be waiting a little longer for such news.

The PS4 still has a lot of new exclusives being launched this year, the next big one being God of War.

As mentioned above, the new adventure starring Kratos will only be appearing on PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles.

And a recent leak has shed more light on just how big this new game could be,

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

This new footage has now been removed from YouTube but included a lot of little hints on how gameplay will be like.

It featured logbook which will apparently include the challenges Kratos can complete throughout God of War.

The unbroken gameplay also showed directional markers come into play when an enemy appear behind you.

There are hopes that the PS5 release date will also reveal PS4 backwards Compatibility, as many fans will want to keep their library of titles from the current gen.

There have been recent rumours to suggest that something could be announced in 2018.

These are linked to recent reports that suggest devkits have already been sent out to third-party developers.

This may sound questionable, considering many analysts believe the PlayStation 5 won’t arrive until 2020.

However, there appears to be at least one other rumour that backs up this idea of developers already working with Sony on the PS5.

CD Projekt Red’s next big project will be Cyberpunk 2077, a big new game already expected for the PS4 and Xbox One.

But recent comments made by the team have provided fans with more to speculate over when it comes to the PS5 release date

During the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar 2018, CD Projekt Red’s Piotr Nielubowicz and Adam Kiciński spoke about Cyberpunk 2077.

And one reveal from that event has really caught the attention of those following next-gen news.

It was confirmed during the Seminar that CD Projekt’s next big game will be built on “current and next generation technology”.

It’s fair to say that this could mean a number of different things, including tech connected to the development of the game.

However, it could also mean that Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on both PS4 and the PlayStation 5.

Which raises two questions if this is indeed true; Does that mean Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out in 2020, or is the PS5 being primed for 2019?

CD Projekt Red are reportedly showing off their new game at E3 2018, so all these questions could be answered during the June expo.

Another game that fans will be hoping to see launch on the PS5 is Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite update v3.3 recently launch on PS4, with the official Epic Games patch notes confirming the new changes.

It introduces the remote explosives, the Supply Llama and the limited time Blitz mode.

Blitz, which will be activated on March 19, features shorter and more intense battles.

Matches will start with the storm circle already closing in on the island.

Likewise, fans will only have a maximum of 15 minutes to complete games.

Save the World, on the other hand, has introduced the Luck of the Storm questline to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Another Fortnite patch is expected to be released this week, although it’s unclear what it could contain at this point.
