Bruno Mars teams up with Fender to release his own Signature guitar

Bruno Mars, the 24K Magic superstar, has just expanded his horizons.

While he has been playing arenas, stadiums, and national TV spots for years, he has finally cemented his position as a legendary musician by teaming up with Fender.

The American star, who is best known for such hits as Just The Way You Are, That’s What I Like, The Lazy Song and Treasure, has just announced the arrival of his Fender Signature guitar.

The Limited Edition Bruno Mars Stratocaster (which can be seen below) is made with an ash body and highlighted with American Ultra contours.

To make the instrument really pack a punch, the Strat has been fitted with explosive Custom Bruno Mars Stratocaster Pickups, with 2-Point Synchronised Tremolo and Deluxe Locking Tuners.

Fender says the Bruno Mars Signature Strat has been “meticulously crafted” with “songwriters and performers in mind”.

And it’s been built with style, as well. The guitar has a new, custom colourway: The Mars Mocha Heirloom nitrocellulose lacquer finish, complete with heirloom-aged gold hardware.

As if that wasn’t flashy enough for you: The guitar comes equipped with a custom leopard print strap. Could it get any better?

Bruno himself said of the weapon: “I don’t think of myself as a guitar player. I’m more of a frustrated songwriter. Every song is like a puzzle you have to solve, and a good guitar can bring something out of you that can help take you to the finish line. That’s what I wanted from this guitar.”

He went on to add: “It was also important to have a workhorse that I could depend on for performing live and writing in the studio, whether it be rhythm or lead.”

Fender’s EVP of Product at Fender, Justin Norvell, said: “We wanted to fashion a guitar that shows Fender’s respect for the artists marking today’s musical hall of fame, as well as displays Bruno Mars’s supernova qualities.”

Justin went on: “Bruno has been a tried-and-true Fender player since the early days of his career and we’re thrilled to include his signature among our roster. Between the all-new finish to the custom-voiced pickups, we’re confident this will be one of our largest signature launches to date.”

Bruno joins the ranks of other signature artists, including Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Steve Lacy, and countless other artists.
