BBC Breakfast fans slam ‘car crash’ interview with Geri Halliwell after 'awkward' question

BBC Breakfast fans have slammed Geri Halliwell-Horner’s interview with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.

On Thursday’s instalment of the show, the two hosts spoke to the former Spice Girl about her new novel.

During the discussion, Naga said: “Do you know what, you’re very interesting as an interviewee.

“You’ve come in, making sure you’ve done your research on us as well haven’t you?”

As Geri stated it’s the polite thing to do, Charlie quipped: “Also, you point your finger quite a lot, to be honest.”

Putting her on the spot, Naga continued: “Do you not like being interviewed?”

Taking a moment to answer, the 51-year-old told the hosts she enjoyed communication and didn’t mind being interviewed.

Elsewhere in the interview, Geri told the duo she sometimes goes into a little shed when it comes to writing to help her concentrate.

Although the BBC host wasn’t convinced as he quipped: “I bet it’s not a little shed, is it? When you say shed, I’m thinking like a warehouse or luxury room.”

Geri replied: “I’m hearing cynicism, no it’s a little shed in the garden.”

It wasn’t long before viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the interview as many slammed the two hosts for their questions.

@_JordanStrachan said: ”Geri Horner really cannot be bothered with this interview on #BBCBreakfast, can she?”

@selz_j tweeted: “Do you not like being interviewed?” Errrr…”

@5INGH54TION4L said: “Naga couldn’t be more blatant about Geri being an “interesting” person!”

@Sineadtyferm added: “Why is this interview with @GeriHalliwell on @BBCBreakfast so awkward? Geri is a delight, but both interviewers seem to have this slight antagonistic undertone. It’s so weird!”
