BREAKING: Shots fired at US high school – students injured as others hide under tables

Two people have been shot at Huffman High School in the US city of Birmingham.

Birmingham Police confirmed both victims were students. One, a male, is in a serious condition.

Both students have been rushed to hospital.

The shots were fired after the school bell rang signalling the end of class.

A photo shared by a local news website shows terrified students huddled under tables.

Early reports indicate the shooting may have been accidental.
