‘The Exorcist: Believer’ tops the box office on its opening night

It’s having supernatural success.

“The Exorcist: Believer” landed in the No. 1 spot at the box office on Friday, its opening night.

The sequel to 1973’s “The Exorcist” and the sixth film in the horror franchise raked in just over $11.9 million, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.

The Post called the slasher flick — which stars Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair reprising their roles from the original — “a dud” and “awful.”

“PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” remained in second place with close to $2.9 million in sales.

The biographical drama, which was produced by Willie Robertson, Phil’s son, also chronicles the redemption Phil found through his Christian faith.

“The response has been phenomenal,” Willie told the Shreveport Times.

“Stories are starting to pour in of standing ovations, baptisms and post movie gatherings all over the country.”
