Donald Trump declares that he will ‘never allow Iran to go nuclear’ amid World War 3 fears

Speaking in Washington as part of the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), the US’ second-in-command stated Donald Trump had agreed to extend sanctions relief towards Tehran in an attempt to fix its nuclear deal.

However, Mr Pence warned the move by Trump signalled Hassan Rouhani’s “last chance”.

He explained: “Make no mistake about it, this is their last chance.

“Unless the Iran nuclear deal is fixed in the coming months, the United States of America will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal immediately.

“The United States of America will never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.”

During a meeting with France’s Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, on Monday, the president of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, warned that if the deal falls through it would signal that “political talks are a waste of time”.

He stated: “Remaining committed to the accord would prove to the world that the negotiation and diplomacy is the best way to solve problems, but the collapse of the deal means that political talks are a waste of time.”

Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, accused Iran of “building an aggressive empire” in his own speech to the Aipac.

He stated: “Darkness is descending on our region.

“Iran is building an aggressive empire: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen, more to come.

“The force behind so much that is bad is this radical tyranny in Tehran.

“If I have a message for you today, it’s a very simple one: we must stop Iran, we will stop Iran.”

Mr Netanyahu praised Donald Trump for his aggressive stance towards Iran and affirmed his commitment to the US in the region.

He went on: “President Trump has made it clear that his administration will not accept Iran’s aggression in the region.

“He has made clear that he too will never accept a nuclear-armed Iran.

“That is the right policy.

“I salute President Trump on this and the President has also made it clear that if the fatal flaws of the nuclear deal are not fixed he will walk away from the deal and restore sanctions.

“Israel will be right there by America’s side and let me tell you, so will other countries in the region.”

The Iran nuclear deal was agreed in 2015 between Iran and the US, UK, Russia, France, China and Germany.

The idea behind the deal was to lift sanctions on Tehran in exchange for limits on its nuclear programme.

However, the Republican firebrand stated Iran had violated terms of the agreement.
