Fortnite update COUNTDOWN – Patch V.3.1.0 release date, start time, server status latest

is getting another update this week, with the release date and start time for patch V.3.1.0 just around the corner.

The Fortnite update was originally scheduled to launch on Wednesday February 28, but like with last week’s season 3 update it was pushed back by a day.

The official Fortnite Twitter account confirmed the release date for the update today.

Fortnite patch V.3.1.0 will launch on Thursday March 1, but a start time has not been given by Epic Games yet.

The developers also have not revealed whether there will be any server downtime, but that tends to happen ahead of most Fortnite updates.

The official Fortnite Twitter account posted: “We plan to release Patch V.3.1.0 tomorrow, March 1.

“We don’t currently have a time estimate but we’ll update you once we know more. Stay tuned!”

If Fortnite patch V.3.1.0 follows the release schedule of most recent updates, then fans can expect servers to go down around 9am GMT and 4am eastern time.

With recent updates, Fortnite servers have gone down for a few hours before the patch was released to fans on PS4, Xbox One and PCs.

The exception to this rule was Fortnite patch V.2.3.0, which saw the game taken offline for 14 hours due to an unforeseen issue.

Epic Games outlined in a Reddit post previously what Fortnite patch V.3.1.0 will bring.

Here are the brief patch notes:

• Quest Map improvements

• Spring it on event week 2

• New event store items!

• Inventory w/ Crafting in FE

It also looks like the new Hunting Rifle weapon for Battle Royale will be included in the latest Fortnite update.

However, this was a last minute change – with it appearing that the highly anticipated Jetpack item was intended to be released this week.

At the start of this week Fortnite players logging into Battle Royale online would have noticed that the new Jetpack item was being teased by Epic Games.

Not much was known about it, apart from the design and that it would let players “take the fight to all new heights” and that it was “coming soon”.

But Epic Games has now revealed that the launch of the Jetpack has been delayed.

The Fortnite team said: “This week’s new item is being changed from the Jetpack to the Hunting Rifle.

“We found a last minute design issue with the Jetpack that’s going to delay its launch and we’re working on correcting it.

“The Jetpack will lift off at a later time.

“Meanwhile, you’ll be able to enjoy lots of no-scopes with the new Hunting Rifle item and a new, lucky point of interest on the map.”
