Winds of Winter: Is THIS how Game of Thrones fans can predict George RR Martin’s new book?

The Game of Thrones TV show may now be ahead of A Song of Ice and Fire’s book series, but both now have their own timelines.

In a recent interview Martin said how around 20 characters killed off on screen are alive and well in his books.

With The Winds of Winter set for release at some point in the next year – we hope – the Cushing Library at Texas A&M University is asking fans to try and predict the next part of the narrative.

After all, Martin donated 300 boxes of papers to the university in 1993 and they may just contain some ideas that will contribute to The Winds of Winter.

Speaking with The Guardian, the university’s chancellor John Sharp said: “The papers and hand-written notes by George RR Martin possibly could contain clues about upcoming storylines, and anyone is welcome to search for themselves.

“Whether you’re developing fan theories or just want to take the opportunity to see Martin’s fantasy writing in its rawest form, A&M’s library staff are happy to show off a true treasure of modern literature.”

The author said: “I did not start to write slower over the years. I was working on the first book for six years and four years on the second one.”

He added: “Fantasists who release their novels every year, do not offer books of large volume.

“These are not 1.5k pages like mine, but, for example, 500. In addition, I have not become younger. Age does not add enthusiasm.”
