IT movie: Original Pennywise Tim Curry gives verdict on new evil clown Bill Skarsgard

The 71-year-old star terrified a generation with his take as Pennywise in the 1990 IT TV miniseries.

Now 27 years later – eerily the exact time in the book when the evil clown is said to return – sees the release of a cinematic adaptation.

Taking on the role this time is 26-year-old Swedish actor, Skarsgard, who has already disturbed film fans in a number of trailers.

Now Curry has spoken out on the new Pennywise, giving his verdict on Skarsgard.

He said: “I was very disappointed by the ending, when I turned into a rather unconvincing spider.”

IT will be released in UK cinemas on September 8, 2017.
