‘In addition to being one of the best coaches in the world, he is also absolutely overwhelming as a person. He is amazing, it was a kind of ‘chill’ conversation.

‘We talked as if we had known each other for a thousand years. I can’t wait to start working together,’ he added.

Klopp’s ability to forge deep and meaningful relationships with his players has aided Liverpool in their quest to capture every available trophy under the German’s guidance.

A highly emotive figure in the dugout, Klopp’s personality has sometimes got him into hot water, but that only adds to the lure of Liverpool when they approach some of the biggest names in European football.

Szoboszlai is one of those such talents, where after another impressive season in the Bundesliga was being monitored by a host of top clubs.

Liverpool beat others to the race for his signature and the attacking midfielder insisted that joining the Reds was a ‘childhood dream’ come true.

‘As I said before, my childhood dream came true, I couldn’t have hoped for more at the age of 22,’ he continued.

‘I am at the top of club football, but every day there is a new goal and it is an amazing motivation to be part of this club, to play for trophies.

‘In the next ten to twelve years, I want to stay at the level I have reached now, and I also want to constantly improve myself and become a better and better football player. This is my goal right now,’ he added.

He will be tasked with helping Liverpool bounce-back from one of their most torrid seasons in recent memory that ended with the club finishing fifth in the Premier League and missing out on Champions League football.
