Is Prince Harry a feminist? Meghan Markle revealed Prince’s pro-woman stance in Wales

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to marry in May 19. The Suits actress, 36, has been vocal about her passionate advocacy for women’s rights in the past.

Modern Meghan has been vocal about women’s rights and equality since a young age.

She revealed at the UN Women’s 20th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference of Women in Beijing: “When I was just 11 years old, I unknowingly and somehow accidentally became a female advocate.”

She revealed that she wrote to a soap company Procter & Gamble and women’s rights advocates Hillary Clinton and Linda Ellerbee, to highlight the company’s tagline: “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”

Young Meghan’s letter writing encourages the huge global company to change the advertising slogan to refer to “people all over America.”

She said: “It was at that moment that I realized the magnitude of my actions. At the age of 11, I had created my small level of impact by standing up for equality.”

Now Meghan Markle has revealed that her husband-to-be Prince Harry, 33, is also a feminist.

Royal expert Kelly Lynch and managing editor of Dailybreak said: “During a visit to Wales last month, a woman told Meghan how much she admired her for publicly defending women’s rights and feminism.

“Meghan told the woman that Prince Harry was a feminist, too, which I believe, given his compassion, reliability and kindness.

“The couple’s connection through social justice and helping others is palpable.”

Meghan wrote a piece for Time Magazine in March 8, 2017, highlighting the plight of girls in India whose menstrual cycles prevent them from attending school.

The activist wrote: “Based on societal ignominy in the developing world, shame surrounding menstruation and its direct barrier to girls education remains a hushed conversation.”

While Harry is known globally for his royal status, Meghan is not one to rest on her laurels, and the actress has friends in high places.

She is friends with Canada’s Prince Minister Justin Trudeau, 46. Meghan posed alongside the world leader and other activists including Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, 27.

The piece was intended the highlight the global leaders of tomorrow at the One Young World forum in Canada.

Trudeau has proudly declared himself a feminist publically and said: “My mom raised me to be a feminist.

“My father raised me, he was a different generation but he raised me to respect and defend everyone’s rights, and I deeply grounded my own identity in that, and I am proud to say that I am a feminist.”

Will Harry do the same, and make his women’s rights advocacy known? No doubt those that make up the feminist movement around the world would revel in the royal support.

Express.co.uk has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.

Kelly Lunch added: “Meghan is perfectly capable of standing on her own, and we’ll likely see her attend events without Harry (as Kate sometimes does), but it’s always lovely to see a royal couple together, mainly because the public loves to see stolen moments of affection.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appeared in Scotland today. Meghan has previously visited Cardiff, Wales, and Brixton, London.
