The number of second-hand ‘supercars’ being advertised for sale has rocketed by 42 per cent in the past 12 months showing that even the wealthy are feeling the squeeze.

Last month, 3,194 vehicles were listed on Auto Trader with asking prices in excess of £150,000. That compares with just 2,252 in April last year.

Auto Trader said these types of cars are now taking an average of more than two-and-a-half months to sell – over three weeks longer than a year ago.

Richard Walker, Auto Trader’s data and insights director, said: ‘Some wealthier drivers are feeling the pinch and are now more willing to part company with their supercars.’
