IT movie: Tim Curry SLAMS his Pennywise original ‘I was VERY disappointed by the ending’

In a week’s time horror fans will be descending on cinemas to come face to face with their childhood fears.

Skarsgard stars as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in Stephen King’s classic, following in the footsteps of the original 1990 TV miniseries.

Curry starred as IT then, but in a new interview has revealed he wasn’t happy with how the ending turned out.

Speaking with The Guardian, the 71-year-old Brit said: “I was very disappointed by the ending, when I turned into a rather unconvincing spider.”

The scene in question sees the Losers Club all grown up and enter IT’s domain.

After all the entity isn’t actually a clown, that’s just the form IT takes to scare children.

Instead the TV adaptation revealed a muppet-like giant spider, which was supposedly IT’s true form.

Whether that’s how the IT movie sequel will reveal the creature, is currently unknown.

While Curry wasn’t a fan of the ending, he did have lots of praise for Stephen King.

He added: “I’d read most of his books before doing It; he’s such a great storyteller. I love that he is more likely to quote Springsteen than Shakespeare.

“He’s got a great sense of how children think and speak. And a feeling for landscapes. I think he knows that everyone is vulnerable to something. I haven’t met him. I wish I had.”

IT will be released in UK cinemas on September 8, 2017.
