Ebay is an auction website which allows some sellers to flog their valuable coins and notes to collectors.
Some bank notes and coins sell for huge sums after their owners spot crucial details which make them rare.
A £5 note is advertised as “very rare” on the posting, listed by seller palaces11_9.
The note is said to be in “excellent” condition, in addition to its rare status.
It is listed for the huge sum of £195,000, and 17 people are watching the listing.
The listing reads: “Genuine and very rare special polymer AK47 pound note.
“Highly Desirable and Well Sought After Collectors Item.
“Graded 100%. Uncirculated, In Excellent Good Clean Condition.”
Why are AK47 pound notes special?
Those £5 notes with the serial number beginning AK47 on the silver holograph are said to be rare and valuable among collectors.
An AK47 is a type of Russian rifle designed in 1947 by Mikhail Kalaschinikov in the Soviet Union.
Another new £5 note with the AK47 serial printed with a particular error was listed on eBay recently.
The seller, margoloaart, is selling the £5 on eBay for £500,001.
Describing how she came by the note, margolaart wrote: “I found this £5 note when I was working in a small shop.”
So why is the note being sold for so much money? It features a rare printing error.
The “AK47” code on the silver holograph of the £5 note has been printed backwards.
