Xbox One Backwards Compatibility: The launch Original games fans have been waiting for

Microsoft have already confirmed that they will be releasing new Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games in 2018.

While most of the biggest titles have already been released for the BC library, there’s still plenty of scope left for improvements.

Xbox 360 games that get additional Xbox One X enhancements is one interesting avenue for Microsoft to explore.

Putting together new titles to play on the Xbox One X, to go with existing games like Fallout 3, would create intriguing new Games with Gold combos.

And lets not forget that there are still plenty of original Xbox games that could be shipped over the in future.

But while Microsoft have yet to confirm what new games will be released in 2018, there’s one new item that might catch the eye of fans.

Hyperkin have released a big new update on the price and release window of their Xbox “Duke” controller recreation.

Perfect for playing classic titles on, The Duke will be returning at the end of March and will retail for around $69.99.

Hyperkin have already confirmed that it will be a limited release, meaning there going to sell out fast.

Original Xbox designer Seamus Blackley is behind the re-release, which has the full blessing of Microsoft to move forward.

Speaking to CNET, Blackley shared his thoughts on the return of the monster-pad, which will also be compatible for PC use.

“I don’t know a lot of brands that would rerelease an unpopular product from the past . . . and Phil [Spencer], I think correctly understands that it sends a message,” he revealed.

“He understands that it sends a message about how serious Xbox is about its heritage, and about the fans.”

While no new original Xbox games have been confirmed for launch yet, Microsoft do have a new Xbox 360 game releasing as part of Games with Gold January lineup.

Tomb Raider Underworld is available to download now and will soon be replaced by Army of Two on January 16.

More on both titles can be found below:
