“It’s looking good to get him back,” the UFC chief told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Jon Jones could receive an eight-year suspension from USADA

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones could be banned from fighting for eight years if he has lied to USADA about how he tested positive for Turanibol before his grudge match with Daniel Cormier.

“It could,” Novitzky said during an appearance on when asked if Jones could possibly receive a longer ban than four years.

“So then there is something called aggravating circumstances, so more than knowingly taking the drug. Taking the drug and lying, trying to cover it up.

“Taking multiple drugs, one trying to hide the other. Yeah, you could get double the sanction amount. A second-time anabolic steroid, four years is kind of the starting point.

“You can go lower for mitigating factors, you can go higher for aggravating factors, up to eight years.”
